JOB KILLERS
Just like the Job Creators, the Job Killers are related to DEMAND.
The Job Killers are low and declining DEMAND.
Their are 3 forces that create DEMAND: spending by the people (You), spending by the Government (Gov) and spending by Business (Bus). Sure, there is spending by Foreigners buying our exports, but that is small and getting smaller each year.
70% of DEMAND is spending by You (Non-Rich people). So, when we don't or can't spend the Economy goes bad.
Business does not spend when DEMAND is down. Business wants to make money not lose it. Today, Big Business is borrowing money to buy back its stock and firing people, all to raise its stock price. Big Business cannot see future Strong Demand in the USA with our present laws.
Since we are losing our jobs due to a bad Economy, only Gov is left to increase spending to create increasing DEMAND.
So, are we in a death spiral or what? Congress has decided Gov spending is the problem with the Economy, not the solution. That is where it gets weird. Now, the solution to the problem is the problem. Only in DC/Congress could that make sense.
Congress spent a lot on saving the Big Banks that got us into this mess. You can not have a financial CRISIS without the Banks enabling it with easy money. Want a house on nothing down, no income, no job and no documents? Only the Wall Street Banks would give out those kind of loans. Why? Because, the Banks got rich from the fees that they charged. We are paying for their mess.
Congress has to create DEMAND by spending for things that we need: roads, bridges, railroad tracks, dams, etc., all of which are falling down.
Instead, we got money for the Banks and wars. We were told that Iraq would pay for itself. Where do we send the bill?
So, less spending leads to fewer jobs which leads to less spending which leads to fewer jobs which leads to less spending which leads to fewer jobs. That is the definition of a DEATH SPIRAL for the Economy.
Congress has to increase spending until the Economy gets going or we are in a DEATH SPIRAL.
